Dr. Suresh Gokhale
Dr. Suresh Gokhale is MBBS, DCh and holds a Fellowship in sports medicine. He is a certified sports psychologist for over 50 years now. Dr. Suresh Gokhale has been actively taking lectures in various organizations and clubs to help the people realize the importance of fitness and sports. He works towards generating funds for Maya CARE Foundation.
Dr. Vidya Gokhale
After a 30-year career in medicine, Dr Vidya Gokhale retired as Professor of Pharmacology from BJ Medical College, Pune. She then acquired a degree in Indian classical dance (Bharatnatyam) and founded her own institute ‘Nritya Sadhana’. In her 70s, she continues to impart dance lessons to young students and is actively involved in Maya CARE operations.
Manjiri Gokhale Joshi
A training and management specialist, Manjiri has a Masters degree in Mega-project Management from Said Business School, University of Oxford. She and her husband Abhay Joshi founded Elephant Connect limited assisting businesses, charities, governments and students achieve their goals through training, project consultancy and tutoring. Manjiri was among the 12 professional experts selected among 13,000 applicants by Linkedin and Virgin Media to judge, train and mentor entrepreneurs pitching for a £ 1 million fund from Sir Richard Branson. She is a recipient of the British High Commission Chevening scholarship (2006). She has authored 5 books:Inspired, - Lessons from 23 contemporary inspirational leaders (co-author Dr Ganesh Natarajan), Westland 2006; Crushes, Careers and Cell phones, Foreword- former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, Vitasta 2011; Bosses of the wild, Lessons from the corporate jungle, Foreword-Mr K V Kamath, Chairman, ICICI Bank, McGraw Hill 2013; Maya, Foreword - Ms. Shabana Azmi - film and theatre actor , Vishwakarma Publications 2016; The Business of Managing Emotions, (Co-Authored with Mr. Manjeet Singh) - Advance Praise by Mr. Ronnie Screwvala - Entrepreneur, Philanthropist and Author and Ms. Mallika Sarabhai - Classical dancer, Choreographer and activist, Sage publications 2018. Among her past assignments are: Learning & Development Specialist and Head, Project Management (Primal) at Informa PLC, London, Programme Manager, GlobalLogic, UK, National Management and Head, Corporate Communication, ICICI Lombard, Mumbai, Head, Contact Centre and Head, Human Resources, Zensar BPO and Assistant Editor, Dataquest, New Delhi. Currently she is working as a CEO of Global Talent Track (GTT), Pune.
Abhay Joshi has over 25 years of corporate managerial experience including eight years in training school and University students in Science, Maths and Engineering subjects. An accomplished educationist, Abhay’s mentoring has transformed struggling students into confident achievers performing to the best of their abilities. On the professional side, Abhay provides consultancy for start-ups as well as established businesses in the areas of pre-sales, planning, service management, service assurance, contract management, customer management and delivery management of complex projects/ solutions. Abhay is a founder of The Vi Educational foundation; a charity that works for children from under privileged background by supporting them to achieve higher grades.
Abhay’s past assignments include: Head, Customer Delivery, Tech Mahindra, UK, Head, Professional Services, NSC Global, UK and Lecturer in Engineering, Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune, India.Abhay has been a School Governor at Radcliffe School, Milton Keynes UK and President of Lions Club International (Milton Keynes, UK). He is a certified private pilot.
He spearheads Public participation and Fund raising programmes at Maya CARE.
Project Co – Ordinator Mumbai region
A retired bank employee, joined Maya CARE in 2009 and has been actively involved in the day to day operations of Maya CARE in Mumbai. She herself is a senior citizen and a passionate volunteer who loves to bring smile on the face of everyone she meets.
Volunteer co – Ordinator, Pune region
Jyoti More has been with Maya CARE for 4 years now and handles the helpline numbers. Her day typically starts with answering phone calls of interested volunteers and elders seeking service and doesn’t end till she maps the right volunteer to the elderly seeking help. She has managed to overcome her physical challenges with a smile.
Project co – Ordinator, Pune region
Savita Kulkarni has been with Maya CARE since 2013. She was working with a nationalized bank previously. She has brought her corporate experience to the social sector and is now in charge of financial management and accounting.
Pratyusha Pinnali has been with Maya CARE since 2015 and has been working towards spreading its reach and bringing about awareness on Maya CARE projects. Based in Mumbai, she overlooks the operations of all 3 regions and hopes Maya CARE expands to other cities in India as well.
Volunteer co – Ordinator, Bengaluru region
Anil Kumar is an HR professional and has joined us in 2017. He is in charge of volunteer drives, awareness programmes in Bangalore and setting up Maya CARE operations in that city.
